Secrets of Joe's Oyster Bar in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico

Joe's Oyster Bar has a number of secrets that most people will never know about!  We will reveal them to you!  You will be amazed!

Most people don't know that there is a secret trap door under the main bar.  It is located on the north side of the bar next to the flip up entrance into the main bar.  It leads underneath Joe's Oyster Bar into the storage area where they keep the booze!  It has an elevator and is used to pass beer up to the bar from below.  They didn't use the trap door for many years, but now it is used daily!

Did you ever wonder what happens to the THOUSANDS of bottle caps that fall into the coolers full of ice every day after the beers are opened?  We don't know why, but we did wonder!  The answer is the Big Magnet!  The coolers are too cold for the bartenders to reach into for too long a period of time.  They use the big magnet to pick up the bottle caps!

At night on weekends, there are frequently line ups primarily to the Women's washroom and occasionally to the Mens washroom.  If you want to avoid the line-ups, there are other washrooms which are not readily known.  We will probably get in trouble for telling you this!  The washrooms are in the lobby of the Gaviana Resort!  Leave by the main entrance, then walk into the hotel.  The washrooms are to the left of the front desk.  REMEMBER TO GET YOUR HAND STAMPED ON THE WAY OUT SO YOU CAN GET BACK IN.  It also helps to tell one of the security guards at the front entrance that you are returning in a few minutes.  He should let you bypass the line to re-enter Joe's Oyster Bar.  This is a little known secret!
