Joe's Oyster Bar has a number of different parts to it. There is a main bar area, a second seating area in front of the beach, a volleyball court, a kitchen/bar center area, and another seating area/bar behind the volleyball court. Each area has it's own vibe depending on the day of the week and the time of the day.
Main bar area
The main bar area is a large open-air straw roof (aka. palapa) building. It has a large square bar in the middle with seating all around. During the day, this is the only bar open so most of the people at Joe's Oyster Bar during the day are in this area. At night, this is the area where the dancing starts. On most Friday and Saturday nights this area is so crowded you can barely walk around the bar! People dance on the floor, tables, and benches!
Second seating area
This is a small palapa-roofed area adjacent to the main bar area. It does not have it's own bar. Waiters will come to the tables here to serve people. There are many tables and chairs. People dance on the floor, tables, and benches!
Volleyball Court in Joe's Oyster Bar
Joe's Oyster Bar has a sand volleyball court inside it! During the day you can play volleyball. At night, tables are put on the sand and people can stand at tables and dance on the sand! There is also a bar at the very back that opens on busy nights.
Kitchen in Joe's Oyster Bar
The kitchen is a separate bar in the middle of Joe's Oyster Bar where all the paths cross. During the day, the kitchen is a kitchen, but at night it turns into a bar. Many people stand around this area because everybody has to walk past this area to go to any of the seating areas.
Joe's Oyster Bar seating area behind the volleyball court
There is another large seating area behind the volleyball court. It has many tables and chairs. Also, there is a bar at the very back that opens on busy nights. The vibe here is more mellow because it is quieter and people can talk more easily!
