During the days, it is a laid back beach bar scene at Joe's Oyster Bar.  There will usually be people in bathing suits and bikinis just coming in from the beach for a drink as well as the shorts and t-shirts crowd!  There isn't really a dress code!

Sunday afternoons are good at Joe's Oyster Bar all year round as this is the day which most locals do not have to work so it is a lively crowd which stays all afternoon into the evening!

What is the nighttime scene like at Joe's Oyster Bar?

The nightclub dance scene starts late in Mazatlán.  People only really start showing up after 10:30pm most nights.  Joe's Oyster Bar is no exception.  You can be there at 9pm and it may not be busy, but within a few hours could be packed!

Friday and Saturday nights are always super packed.  Lots of Mexicans from the outskirts of Mazatlán and Culiacán (state capital 3 hours north of Mazatlán) come to party.  Since Joe's Oyster bar is a beach bar the dress code isn't too high.  Most people wear jeans and a shirt.  Usually only tourists wear shorts no matter how hot it is!

NOTE that it is a younger, more Mexican nightclub crowd later in the evenings so if you aren't comfortable going out to nightclubs in your home town, you probably won't be comfortable here late at night.  There is lots of security so it isn't really a security issue.
