Joe's Oyster Bar, the best nightclub in Mazatlán

Joe's Oyster Bar, the best nightclub in Mazatlán

Mazatlán has a vibrant nightlife with a bunch of large nightclubs right next to the beach.  Nightclubs open and close every year in Mazatlán.  This page contains a list of the main nightclubs in Mazatlán.  The locals and Mexican tourists don't normally go out to the nightclubs until late...about 11pm  So, if you are at a nightclub at 9pm, it probably will be quiet.  We recommend that you go to late to nightclubs to get the real action!  Mazatlán has nightclubs that stay open until 5am on Friday and Saturday nights.  American and Canadian tourists normally go to the nightclubs (e.g. Joe's Oyster Bar, Bora Bora, Sumbawa, Jungle Juice) in the Golden Zone.  There are a number of nightclubs in Mazatlán that feature 'Banda' music, which is a type of music local to the state of Sinaloa.  Banda dancing is a lot like polka dancing.  American and Canadian tourists rarely go to the Banda nightclubs.  The weekends are really busy in Mazatlán.  Many people come from the capital city Culiacan which is 3 hours north of Mazatlán.  Also, many people from the ranches in the mountains come into town to visit relatives.  We've had a number of older Canadian and American tourists respond that at night in the nightclubs in Mazatlán that there are a lot of younger Mexicans.  Well, you are in Mexico and there are Mexicans in Mexico!  Young single people tend to be the people that go to nightclubs!  If you don't normally go to a nightclub in your hometown, you probably shouldn't go to a nightclub in Mexico!  There are a few restaurants with bands that cater to an older crowd.  Also, the larger hotels have lounges which also cater to an older crowd.

Joe's Oyster Bar is the best nightclub in Mazatlán!  Located in the Golden Zone right next to the beach in the Ramada Resort Mazatlán hotel complex.  During the day, Joe's Oyster Bar is a beach bar! At night, Joe's Oyster Bar turns into a nightclub.  Joe's Oyster Bar is an open air bar, which has 3 large seating areas covered by grass roofs.  This type of roof is called a palapa.  There is an open-air volleyball court that becomes part of the nightclub at night.  The entire bar is open-air so there isn't air-conditioning.  So, it can be really hot in the summer!  The DJ plays the latest and greatest dance music.  Joe's Oyster Bar is packed on Friday and Saturday nights.  There is a small cover charge on these nights.  They recently added two large video screens: one inside the main bar and one at the back of the volleyball court.  Check out the other pages of this website as we have lots more information about and photos of Joe's Oyster Bar!
